Title Oak brass-bound pistol case
Nationality British
Period c 1850
Sold

This fine box was almost certainly built for a large calibre pepperbox, or possibly a pair of double-barrelled overcoat pistols. At some point in its history, it was turned into a cigar box with the addition of a cedarwood lining. It even has the remains of the original blue baize-type covering to the base, typical of pistol boxes of this era.

The dimensions are: internal depth near 8cm, internal width just over 15cm, internal length 24.5cm; external depth 8.5cm, external width just over 16cm, external length 27.5cm.

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)

Thank you. I have received the bayonet. It is indeed in excellent condition and miracle! It fits my antique P53 perfectly.
