This was instituted on 16 December 1938 and was awarded to families of German origin, including folk from Austria, Danzig, and Sudetenland. The 2nd class cross (silver) was given for bearing six to seven children. The first class was for eight or more! The ribbon was blue and white for all grades.
Sadly, this has lost its ribbon and there are some hairline stress cracks to the enamel on the bottom arm of the cross. Otherwise it is in exellent condition.
