Title Mahogany truncheon
Nationality British
Period c 1820
Sold

This truncheon - almost certainly mahogany, though it might possibly be fruitwood - may well have been made for private use as there are no marks or paintwork. The shape of the head suggests an origin in the Midlands, the Manchester tipstaves being constructed in this baluster form.

Its condition is excellent, with a little bit of bruising on the baluster section.

I'd just like to thank you for the SS Buckle, this has to be one of the best items I have yet and am very happy with it.
