Title Luftwaffe flyer's dirk, 2nd pattern
Nationality German
Period c 1936-45
Sold

This is a nice example, with an Eickhorn blade in near factory finish, a nice silver-plated scabbard and the original gilding on the swastika on both sides of the pommel. These dirks were worn by all flight personnel of the Luftwaffe in WW2.

The only downside is the zinc crossguard, which, sadly, is showing signs of decomposition. Having said that, the zinc crossguard conforms to the Eickhorn factory pattern and undoubtedly was part of the dagger when it was made.

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)
