This is the standard cap eagle (6.5cm wingspan) worn on other ranks/NCOs and occasionally on officer's caps. It is maker-marked FLL (Friedrich Linden, Ludenscheid) on the reverse. It is the second pattern eagle, with upswept tail feathers. It is made of die-struck aluminium and is virtually as struck, complete with its brass prongs on the reverse. There is a small tarnish spot on one wing. Prov: from the J.R. Gaunt & Son Ltd. Pattern Book Archive, sold at auction by order of the National Army Museum, London. |
