This hallmarked silver medal was made in Egypt by Bichay of Cairo for the liberation of the Yemen Arab Republic (north Yemen). The Yemen Arab Republic was founded in 1962. About 500 of these medals were struck and it is, thus, quite a rare piece, emblematic of Nasser's involvement in liberation movements in the Arab world.
The suspension ring is damaged, but it is otherwise in reasonably good shape, certainly in near VF condiiton.
