Title Leather holster for Colt/Webley 455 revolver
Nationality British
Period c 1917
Sold

Stitchwork intact throughout, though with some signs of modification in service. This was probably for a Colt New Service revolver, issued to the British army when there was a scarcity of Webleys, but will fit either pistol. The leather strap at the back is obviously cut for the wide web belt in use by both British and US troops in WW1.

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)

I received the sword and belt this afternoon. Always a bit of a risk buying this sort of thing online but I'm very pleased with the quality of the sword and scabbard...
