Title KS98 dress bayonet, double-etched blade
Nationality German
Period c 1938
Sold

Rare double-etched (tank motif) example, with nice Luftwaffe NCO's bayonet knot. The scabbard finish has been expertly stove enamelled, probably post-WW2, and the nickel silver finish to the hilt has been professionally restored. There is no maker's mark to the blade. There are nice original stag horn grips.

This piece can be bought for ?275 without the knot.

Just a brief note to confirm that the sabre has been delivered today. All is as it should be. I have to say I’m impressed with the ‘custom’ packaging, obviously essential in your line of business. I have made a very quick inspection of the sword & it fully lives up to your accurate description, very pleased with the purchase.

Excellent information, Chris, you've been making a big effort! I will spell it out more closely (I'm a historian!) and don't think Bezdek can add much more.
