Title Kriegsmarine tunic buttons, feldgrau finish
Nationality German
Period 1939-45
Price £95.00

All these buttons are marked FLL for Friederich Linden & Co of Ludenscheid. They would have been worn by shore-based units such as the coastal artillery on the Atlantic Wall and shore based flak batteries at St Nazaire, etc. I recently had a 1944 pattern tunic with these buttons on.

There is minimal wear to the paintwork on the highligts, but they are ex-stores pieces. One shank was badly bent so I have straightened it out.

These buttons are priced at ?15 each (?95 the lot) and measure 21mm across. They would appear, from the reverse, to be made of kriegsmetal (zinc based).

Sword arrived today. Fabulous. This is an excellent example of a fighting sword of its period, and a real gem. The 1828 Pattern is such a gorgeous sword, and this is a fine example. Even my bride is impressed and she doesn’t really get swords.
