Title Kiel dockyard worker's badge
Nationality German
Period 1939-45
Sold

This badge was worn as an entry pass and identification by dockyard workers, in this case at the Deutschwerke Yards at Kiel. This yard would have primarily been responsible for U- and E-boat construction at this point. The number on the front would correspond with the roll of the dockyard workers. It is maker marked Hoffstatter Bonn on the reverse.

It measures 3.7cm across, being made of die-struck zinc, with green and black paint to the face.

Its condition is excellent for its age. The highlights on the centre of the piece would appear to have had silver paint on them, which has now mostly gone, but the silver paint still remains on the lettering.

Thanks very much for the bayonet. I am very happy, I think your photos of your items are great because nothing is hidden and you can clearly see them. (Unlike some other dealers.) Everything was as you describe, I will be keeping a eye on your site for any further bayonets for my collection.
