Title Jaeger bayonet for Wanzel carbine
Nationality Austrian
Period c 1854
Sold

This is a comparatively rare example, complete with its original leather-covered, brass-mounted wood scabbard and bayonet frog. There would appear to be unit/regimental markings on the shoulder of the socket, plus various other ordnance stamps, including the double headed Austrian eagle at the forte. The condition is excellent for its age.

The blade length is 60 cms; the muzzle ring diameter is 2.5 cms; the socket length is approximately 11 cms.
