Germanic example with reinforced points to axe blade and rear hook. Iron straps now heavily shortened. Probably remounted in the 17th century (for the 30 Years War?). Octagonal ash shaft copiously studded with brass buttons; extensive traces of old velvet under the buttons. Unusual to have its grounding iron in place.
