Title General assault badge
Nationality German
Period c 1941
Sold

An early example in die-struck tombak with silver-wash finish, of which 95% is retained, with some rubbing on the highlights. No maker mark. These early die-struck pieces are relatively uncommon, compared with the solid zinc variety issued later.

This badge was awarded for those who had taken part in infantry assaults (Waffen SS and Army), other than infantry and armoured units, ie artillery, engineers and medical personnel.

My Arisaka arrived at 9.00am. Very prompt delivery and excellent packaging! The blade is superb.. and just what I was after, its in very fine condition and just as you described.. I've referenced it in my copy of Raymond La Bar's book "Bayonets of Japan".

Many thanks, Chris, once again its been a pleasure doing business!

Swords mattered [arrived?]. I am very content. You still have which good swords for the sale?
