Title Fighting/boot knife
Nationality German
Period 1943-5
Sold

This is the pattern which has the guard forged in one piece with the blade. They were carried from mid-war onwards to the end as a last-ditch weapon by many of the soldiers, especially on the Russian front. There is no maker mark.

The grip would appear to be fruitwood of some sort, held in place by three brass rivets. It is a slightly scruffy example, with some traces of the original paintwork to the scabbard.

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)
