Title Dress bayonet, staghorn grips, Robert Klaas maker
Nationality German
Period c 1936
Sold

This bayonet has a somewhat worn blade, the leading edge of which has been sharpened. However, the inscription is unusual in its position within the fuller of the blade and what may be a political eagle superimposed on a steel helmet at the forte. This may be for one of the paramilitary formations of the Third Reich, such as the Feldherrnhalle.

It has nice staghorn grips, a slightly scruffy but original parade frog and a scabbard which is missing some 50% of its paintwork. The nickel hilt is in relatively good shape.

The day the blunderbuss arrives I could not stop looking and feeling the gun for at least one hour. My wife told me that I was sick........ I am very happy, it is a piece of craftsmanship! Well made! I have 5 blunderbusses but all iron barrel, also from England but this one is gorgeous with the Brass Barrel.

Please keep me informed when you have any other type of blunderbuss. Thanks my friend!
