Title Dorset Yeomanry epaulettes, other ranks
Nationality British
Period c 1830
Price £40.00

These are typical of the first half of the 19th century, when epaulettes still had a practical function of defending the shoulder from a sabre blow. One button remains, marked 'Blandford Troop YC', one of the DY troops of this period.

They are made of brass with a reinforced tinned iron underlay which holds the scales together.

Their condition is good for their age, though one button is obviously missing and there is one small age crack to the edge of one of the epaulettes.

The day the blunderbuss arrives I could not stop looking and feeling the gun for at least one hour. My wife told me that I was sick........ I am very happy, it is a piece of craftsmanship! Well made! I have 5 blunderbusses but all iron barrel, also from England but this one is gorgeous with the Brass Barrel.

Please keep me informed when you have any other type of blunderbuss. Thanks my friend!
