Made of wrought iron, this is the first type of short iron sword made on the European continent in recorded history. A typical Iron Age piece. There is approximately 1.5 inches missing at the point, but, all in all, a nice example, measuring 41 cms. This particular item comes from an old collection in Bristol.
Some consolidation work has been done to the blade to prevent the pitting deteriorating.
