Title Cavalry/artillery officer's pouch and belt
Nationality Austrian
Period c 1900
Sold

A clean example with Austrian hall marks to the top and sides of the silver pouch. This was worn by Austrian cavalry and artillery officers throughout the 19th century and into the 1st World War. The gold braid on the belt is in excellent shape with only minor signs of wear and the leather backing is in red calf.

The retailer's mark is inked on to the leather of the box under the flap. The pouch and belt leather are generally in good shape, but there are several old woodworm holes to the leather flap and minor bruising to the silver top of the pouch.

My Arisaka arrived at 9.00am. Very prompt delivery and excellent packaging! The blade is superb.. and just what I was after, its in very fine condition and just as you described.. I've referenced it in my copy of Raymond La Bar's book "Bayonets of Japan".

Many thanks, Chris, once again its been a pleasure doing business!
