This is the first model knot for the Kriegsmarine sword and dirk, of silver bullion construction. Only commissioned officers could wear this, ie from midshipman up.Cadets and petty officers could not wear it. This tradition dated from the imperial era, when it had a red and black thread running through it.
The condition is good for its age, the bright finish being somewhat tarnished.Early Kriegsmarine knots are now a little hard to find.
