Title Bronze mountain eagle
Nationality Austrian
Period c 1890-1918
Sold

This fine bronze, almost certainly Austrian, is of a mountain eagle such as those found in the Tyrol or the Dolomites. The styling is magnificent, showing the bird about to take off (or having just landed?), and it is mounted on a nicely polished granite base. It is 12 inches (30 cms) high and the wing span is 15.75 inches (40cms).

The patina is the original chocolate brown colour, somewhat lighter on the underside of the wings.

The condition is excellent throughout, with obvious age wear and tear here and there. All I did to clean it was rub it down with WD40 and polish it with a soft cloth.Total weight is about 6 Kilos or 13 pounds.

testimonials

The day the blunderbuss arrives I could not stop looking and feeling the gun for at least one hour. My wife told me that I was sick........ I am very happy, it is a piece of craftsmanship! Well made! I have 5 blunderbusses but all iron barrel, also from England but this one is gorgeous with the Brass Barrel.

Please keep me informed when you have any other type of blunderbuss. Thanks my friend!
