Title Black wound badge, WW1
Nationality German
Period c 1914-18
Sold

This was the basic wound badge for the first wound in combat, made famous havng been worn by Adolf Hitler along with his Iron Cross, 1st class, the only medals he ever wore. The higher grades were in silver and gold finish.

It is made of pressed brass with a blackened finish, of which only about 50% or so survives. Otherwise, it is in OK order.

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)

Thank you. I have received the bayonet. It is indeed in excellent condition and miracle! It fits my antique P53 perfectly.
