Title Bethnal Green Volunteer Infantry silver medal
Nationality British
Period 1814
Sold

This medal was awarded by Lt Col Carrick to the men under his command who had served with the Bethnal Green Volunteers up to the first dethronement of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1814. It is struck from sterling silver, but is not hallmarked. A nice example of a die-struck medal of the Regency period.

The condition is about VF, ie it has had some wear and tear in its life, with the highlights all being somewhat rubbed.

I am wholly delighted with the shako plate. [It] is a wee cracker. It is a real pleasure to have something combining both condition and quality in equal parts, and I simply could not be more pleased.

Just a short note to let you know that I have collected the Police fur cap this morning from the Post Office. I am really happy with it, and for sure I will give a thumbs-up to your service. This was the first item I ever bought from you, and I hope it will not be the last.
