This is the classic barrel knife, beloved of fisherman the world over! You simply extract the blade from the barrel, unfold it, returning it to the barrel where it locks in place. The inner grip is of brass, complete with maker's initials and date (his name and address is also on the blade). These come in all sizes, this being the smallest.
The blade has some expected wear and tear, but no real abuse. Both the birchwood grip and the mechanism are sound. The split ring is a modern one.
