Title Army officer's badge
Nationality Afghan
Period 20th century
Price £25.00

This is a Soviet inspired piece, with a typical Russian style wreath of ears of wheat, hence it must be of a fairly late date, perhaps 1980s somewhere. The pagoda device in the centre is the Afghan emblem.

It appears to be made of brass and has possibly been gilded at some stage, inasmuch as the reverse appears to have a gilt finish. There are two brass threaded screw posts on the reverse.

The condition is apparently all that could be desired, with some minor distortion from service and the gilt would appear to have worn off the front.

...the sword arrived safely today... My son, who shares my interest in antique edged weapons and for whom I bought the sword, is delighted.

Found the item a little on the expensive side and a bit disappointed that you were unwilling to bend a bit on the price of the Officer's Tunic Eagle (half the fun of buying, after all, is the haggling), but impressed by the speed of delivery and the quality of the item. Was well worth it in the long run...
