Title 90th Punjab Regiment piper's baldrick badge
Nationality British Empire
Period 1903-23
Sold

This badge (approx. 3.5" high) is a good quality bazaar casting made of coin silver (no hall marks) and would have been worn on a leather belt across the piper's chest. This regiment became the 2nd battalion of the 8th Punjab Regt. in 1923. It served with distinction in both wars: in WW1 in Mesopotamia and India; in WW2 in India and Burma.

In 1948, the 8th Punjab Regiment was allocated to Pakistan and the Sikh companies returned to India.

Just a short note to let you know that I have collected the Police fur cap this morning from the Post Office. I am really happy with it, and for sure I will give a thumbs-up to your service. This was the first item I ever bought from you, and I hope it will not be the last.
