Title 6th Duke of Connaught's Own Lancers cap badge
Nationality British Empire
Period c 1922-56
Price £30.00

This regiment's other title was Watson's Horse. In 1947, on Partition, it transferred to the Pakistan Army as the 6th Lancers. A Captain Michael Allmand of this regiment won a posthumous VC for gallantry in northern Burma in 1944.

This badge was worn by both officers and other ranks. It could conceivably be an officer's version as it appears to be silver plated, the other ranks being white metal. The silver plate appearance of the badge is confirmed by the fact that the lugs also have a silvered finish, unlike the lugs on most other ranks badges which tend to have a copper finish.

This badge is in excellent condition, with a little minor distortion from age and service. It is just under 39mm high.

Just a short note to let you know that I have collected the Police fur cap this morning from the Post Office. I am really happy with it, and for sure I will give a thumbs-up to your service. This was the first item I ever bought from you, and I hope it will not be the last.
