Title 27th Foot (Inniskilling) other ranks glengarry badge
Nationality British
Period c 1874-81
Sold

In 1881 the regimental numbering system was altered and two regiments (27th & 108th) were amalgamated into the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (a distinguished Northern Irish regiment), so this badge would have been manufactured before then, although its use in the 1st Battalion of the new regiment may have continued.

This is a die-struck brass badge with its original brass lugs. The castle of Inniskilling surmounts the garter. The condition is excellent for its age with relatively little wear and tear, just an accumulation of dried metal polish and dirt.

testimonials

the Bayonet is superb and exactly as described if not better.

Your customer service is excellent, and will recommend you to others.

Hanger arrived safe and sound 11.30ish today. Very pleased, it's as expected. Your excellent pics make all the difference in terms of confident buying over the net. As a matter of interest, the frog, which as you said is very a/f, is, as you thought, 'spot on'. On closer inspection it is a mk.1 Naval Frog, designated 'for cutlasses'. Date seems around 1860ish give or take.

By the way, I think your site is very user friendly. Seems to work much better than many and up to date, a rarity!!!
