Title 1939 bar for 1914 Iron Cross 2nd class
Nationality German
Period c 1939
Sold

This is marked 'L/4' on the reverse, which is for the firm of Steinhauer & Luck of Ludenscheid. This bar was awarded instead of an Iron Cross, 2nd class, 1939 to someone who already had the 1914 cross and was worn pinned on the black and white ribbon in the buttonhole of the recipient. This is the second pattern of this issue.

The condition is generally excellent but there is some minor tarnishing and signs of age on the piece. This would remove easily with metal polish, if you so wished.

If you want to comment on this item—re quality, age, etc—please email me.

Thanks for the good and quick service! I tell other world war 2 collectors to buy at your shop!

Found the item a little on the expensive side and a bit disappointed that you were unwilling to bend a bit on the price of the Officer's Tunic Eagle (half the fun of buying, after all, is the haggling), but impressed by the speed of delivery and the quality of the item. Was well worth it in the long run...
