Title 14 assorted Royal Flying Corps photographs
Nationality British
Period c 1916
Sold

These photos, some 14 in all (only 10 here), came out of an album belonging to H. Colby (I bought them from the family and he is the one sitting cross-legged on the ground in the middle of the first group photo). He served with No. 6 Training Squadron at RAF Montrose (I also have his 'Air Board Technical Notes').

The best part of these photos show the maternity tunic in all its variations for different ranks. I imagine he photographed the pilots (with their aeroplanes) whom he served as ground crew.

There are quite a few other photos, but all of the box Brownie variety and mostly rather badly faded. These are the best.

The package arrived today, and the two items are nice. The Mother Cross actually looks a lot better in person than in the pics.

Found the item a little on the expensive side and a bit disappointed that you were unwilling to bend a bit on the price of the Officer's Tunic Eagle (half the fun of buying, after all, is the haggling), but impressed by the speed of delivery and the quality of the item. Was well worth it in the long run...
