Title DLV lapel pin
Nationality German
Period c 1933-36
Sold

This is the badge of the 'civilian gliding club' (Deutscher Luftsport Verband) founded by the Nazis to get round the Versailles Treaty strictures on the existence of any airforce. In 1936, this in turn became the NSFK or Fliegerkorps for short, which shortly afterwards became the Luftwaffe.

It is maker marked 'K. Wurster M. Neukirchen Ges. D.L.V. Gesch.' Its condition is good, except for a small pinprick flaw in the enamel (at 2 o'clock) and, on account of the thinness of the wings, there has been some minor distortion through age to these. However, the EPNS finish is excellent.

It is quite a rare badge and I have been lucky enough to buy two of them from a veteran source.

testimonials

Just to let you know that the bayonets arrived safely this morning and I am extremely happy! They are everything that I had hoped they would be, but better! I am extremely pleased that i purchased them from you. The 1867 Albini ... is an absolute beauty, the blade is immaculate. The other is in fact in far better condition that I had imagined as well. So all in all, I couldn't be happier! Many thanks Chris.

I very much look forward to doing business with you again in the near future.

Just wanted to thank you very much for finding the sword - you have made C's day and therefore mine!
