Title Kriegsmarine breast eagle, 1st pattern
Nationality German
Period c 1939
Price £30.00

This eagle was introduced in the mid-1930s when the new navy uniforms came into force. These were principally worn on the reefer jacket and the white summer tunic. All navy personnel would have worn them, officers wearing them in a gold bullion finish, while ORs wore them in a cotton/wool mix (as this one) and later in BeVo (rayon).

This is a gold cotton thread on a dark blue wool base and would appear to have been worn, there being signs of age staining on the front and reverse. Other than this, its condition is excellent. Wing tip to wing tip, this measures 9cm.

testimonials

I have in the last six months inherited my late father Alan Swain's police memorabilia collection along with much paperwork receipts etc. I would like to pass on to you my thanks for such good dealership with my father going back to the late 80s and well into the 1990s.

Laurence Swain, UK, 20.08.2016

Hi Chris, medals arrived safely and I am very pleased, will leave a mention for you on a military collectors forum and hopefully you may pick up some business.

Once again thank you.
